Pastor Judy grew up in Charleston, South Carolina and has been a life-long Lutheran. She attended Newberry College, serving as the Vice President of the Student Body, sang in the College Singers and smaller group, MADS, and was often on stage for theatre productions.
She majored in Religion and Philosophy and had a concentration in Theatre. Following her college career, she attended Lutheran Theological Seminary, graduating with a Master's in Divinity in 1989. She has served congregations all over North Carolina for 32 years.
Pastor Judy loves working with children and youth and has a love of puppet ministry with the youth in the congregation. She has also served as chaplain in several nursing homes as well as Hospice and enjoyed her time there as well. PJ loves all people! When not working, she enjoys watching movies, reading, working in the garden and refinishing furniture.
She and her husband, Pastor David Drysdale, enjoy travelling and especially visiting family in Maine and their son and daughter-in-law in Virginia, where Joshua serves as a pastor as well. Life is busy with their dog, Penny, cat, Indy, and 3 recently found kittens in their yard!
