Safe Space for Questions of Life and Faith

From 9:30am-10:15am on Sunday mornings there are opportunities for youth and adults of all ages to gather in small group settings to process life, engage with God's story, and grow in understanding and relationship with each other. Most of our Sunday School groups meet in the lower level of the Family Life Center, while one of our adult classes meets in the conference room behind the sanctuary.

Different small groups use different resources. However, one resource widely embraced by faith formation groups at BLC is "MiniRevolutions" produced by our friends at Illustratred Ministry.

Growing in Faith beyond Sunday Morning

There are opportunities to learn and grow in faith in all kinds of settings

Bible Studies - there are a variety of bible study opportunties in various types of settings. Some take place in person on campus, others take place virtually, and others take place out in the community. Bible studies take place at various times throughout the calendar year. One specific bible study, "Beer & Bibile," takes place year round every other Thursday night at 7pm.
Vacation Bible School - Vacation Bible School is offered each summer to provide an interactive learning space for elementary aged youth. Each summer's VBS experience incorporates different themes, games, and activities.
Camp Experiences- North Carolina is home to three Lutheran Camp ministry sites: Lutheridge (Arden, NC), Lutherock (Newland, NC), and Camp Agape (Fuquay Varina, NC). All three of these camps offer various experiences for children, youth, and adults. Camp ministry is a great way to grow relationships with people outside of your surrounding community.
Via de Cristo (VdC)- Translated as "way of Christ" is a three day spiritual retreat offered in the spring & fall of each year. VdC retreats are an ecumenical experience with several different faith traditions participating in the movement. Many who make a VdC weekend decide to meet with other VdC participants in small groups called "reunion groups" to support one another in the journey of faith and life.
Middle School/High School Mission Trips - Most summers there is a mission trip for youth in grades 6-12. These immersive cultural experiences are also accompanied with opportunities for service and spiritual reflection. **Note that mission trips are not held in the same calendar year as a National Youth Gathering or a Living Waters For the World mission trip.
